On April 22nd, a collective taste of talent took over Federal Street in Youngstown Ohio, for an all-day event featuring  food, arts and music.

Federal Frenzy is put on by Penguin Productions, a student-run group from Youngstown State University.

Students work the day, getting bands on and off stages as scheduled, setting up and taking down equipment and decorations and working to put Youngstown on display for the Frenzy spectators.

Students of YSU and residents of Youngstown were able to spend a breezy evening listening to local and national talent in the comfort of Federal Street’s bars. The all-day occasion was a primer for the headlining band, Jonah and the Lion, a Billboard-charting alliterative group.

Federal Street was also occupied by local vendors and tents selling everything from band apparel to wire wrapped crystals and intricately unique trinkets.

At the end of the fest, Jonah and the Lion took the main stage.

The show, along with rest of the event, went on without a hitch and was successful, the local bars got plenty of business and Federal Street was filled with patrons enjoying the concerts.

The entire event was a ten-hour hiatus from the repetition of a day to day scene in the city, while breaking the skepticism and stereotypes that Youngtown Ohio seems to carry.
